Happy New Year!! And, happy birthday to our little man, Jacob. Jacob woke up to train tracks that led from his bedroom to the kitchen, where his presents were waiting for him. He got his own tool box (with some second-hand real tools, because he always likes daddy's better than the fake ones), a set of blocks from grandma and grandpa Crosby, a snicker's bar, and a Thomas the Train set from Grandma Terri and Grandpa Brian, and one of Brian's old shovels because he LOVES to help daddy in the yard. Our cute neighbors brought him some shirts and some awesome trucks. :)
Here is Jake's Thomas the Train cake. We were going to have a party with some of our neighbors, but both Jacob and Katelyn were sick, so we postponed it for a few days and had a little dinner party that weekend.
Here are a few cute pictures of our little princess in her princess dress. We can probably fit 3 princesses in there.
Valentine's Day was really fun this year. We surprised the kids with balloons, a little box of chocolates, and a small toy from the dollar store (Jake got a football and Kate got a soft toy ball). We ate pancakes with strawberries for breakfast and Brian brought me some beautiful red and white roses. We also got to go on a REAL DATE! We ate at Mimi's Restaurant and read books in the Barnes and Noble children's section (that is my favorite place to go on a date, by the way.) Brian did good. :)
This past weekend, Jacob played a small part in the local high school musical. He was the "elephant bird" in Seussical the Musical, and I must say he was the most adorable elephant bird I've ever seen! By far, the best part was when the egg hatched and they lifted Jacob into "the tree." Every night he received a fantastic "AAAWWWWW!" from the audience. (Sadly, I missed the "aw" in the video.) He was a little nervous, but he did such a good job standing in his tree in front of all those people. The last night he really got into it and danced with the cast and even dared do his own little bow. We love our little elephant bird.
Finally, our little Katie-bug has started walking...kind-of. She will walk for marshmallows, but that's about it. Otherwise, she still prefers to crawl around from place to place, but she's making progress. Yay! :)
GRRR! My video won't show. :( boo.
