Baby Katelyn
Sweet Katelyn Terri Crosby joined our family one week ago today on December 14, 2011. She was born at 10:33 am, weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz. and was 20 inches long. She is growing like a weed and we are all in love with her. I love the feeling in our home with a newborn. I feel the spirit so much stronger with this tender, fresh-from-heaven babe in my arms. She is an angel and I feel angels are with her in our home. It is the best Christmas ever! What a great gift she is to our family!
My greatest worry about a second child was that Jacob would still feel loved and important and that he would love his sister. He LOVES baby Katelyn! He giggles every morning when he hears her wake up and can't wait to go see her. He loves to hold her and lay on the floor with her and point out her eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hands, etc. He is a very good big brother. There is defninitely some adjusting going on as he realizes mom can't drop everything to play with him like she used to be able to do. I'm also not at a place where I'm running around chasing him as usual. I think he misses that. He's doing very well with all the change, though. We are so proud of him for being such a great brother.
I will post more pictures later, but thought I should at least get one up with the announcement of our little girl. She's here! I'm one happy and very blessed mommy.

"Fall-ifying" and Lagoon
This is the little man celebrating his Grammy and Grampy's 30th wedding anniversary. :) On September 16th, my parents made it to 30 years together!! Awesome! To celebrate they brought the whole family to Lagoon, and we had quite the party. Thanks, mom and dad, for being such wonderful parents and grandparents. We love you!!! (I just realized I had so much fun taking pictures of Jake that I didn't get a picture of my parents...sad...not that they care, but I do...)
Jacob loved all the rides and never wanted to stop. He didn't get scared or sick once!
Since Halloween is on it's way, we had to ride the "scariest" ride in the park...Oooo!!
Our little Jake is a social butterfly. He made a cute new friend while we ate lunch. :)
Our little ducky, all cleaned up after the fun.
Other than playing with family, I have been doing a little "fall-ifying" around the house.
Here's my tomato cage ghost. He glows!! (That's my favorite part!)
Our garden has been full and yummy...Good job, nature!
We are not the only ones "fall-ifying" things. Mother nature did a great job with the pumpkin patch we see from our kitchen window. What a great view!
My pregnancy hormones hit me a couple of weeks ago and I found myself crying over our front room...ridiculous, I know. Poor, Brian. The next day I bought some $8 curtains and did some rearranging and felt like a new woman. (I think most of it was just hormonal, but I was happy with the change.) It has a little feel of fall as well...
I also worked on the kitchen that day...
And, finally, I did something I NEVER thought possible! I made curtains--out of bed sheets and a bed skirt. They are far-from-perfect, but are certainly functional. I found blue bed sheets at DI to match Jake's room and hemmed up the bottom. (Yay! I love cheap, easy, can-do projects!) The kitchen curtains I made from a bed skirt that I found at DI for $4. I figure if it didn't work out, it wasn't much of a waste. So far, we like them. :)
Okay, so the curtains are hard to see in the pictures, but you can kind-of get the idea....
We are loving fall and looking forward to leaf hunts, drives through the canyon, corn mazes and halloween! Hopefully, I'll be better at taking pictures and updating the blog so we can share our family fun more often.

The Big News... ;-)
To begin...I forgot to shift all the sideways pictures before I posted them, and as our computer is being extremely slow at the moment, I will just let you turn your head sideways to see the real thing. Sorry...Maybe I'll fix it later. I just don't have the patience to redo all this. And now, the big news...
JAKE GOT A BIG BOY CAR SEAT!!! I know it's not that big for anyone but us, but we're pretty happy about it because he loves it! :) Our trips have been MUCH happier since he got his new seat.
Our family took a hike up Big Cottonwood Canyon a few weeks ago. The trailhead was Butler Fork and it curved into the Dog Lake trail. It was BEAUTIFUL!
We just got back from our family vacation to Tony Grove Lake. It is in Logan Canyon. about 15 minutes away from Bear Lake, but SO much better than Bear Lake in our opinion. :) There is a 7 mile road that leads from the canyon road up into the mountains. We found the quintesential campsite, just above Tony Grove Lake that was close to all the trailheads. We are definitely going back!
Here is our happy camper! :)
Jacob experienced his first S'more this trip:
Our hike to Mt. Naomi Peak (There was a lot of snow and we lost the real trail, so we only went up as far as we could without it, which was still pretty far)...
They call this the Devil's Staircase.
Our hike to White Pine Lake-highlight of the trip! The pictures are pretty, but it is nothing to the real thing.
Our little bear on our last night...
Jake loves to smell EVERY flower...
We got home and had a family birthday celebration for Brian.
Brian chose indian food for his birthday dinner. I made chicken curry and naan bread. :) Mmmm....
Wishing daddy a happy birthday!
Brian's traditional birthday cake: homemade carrot cake.
We invited our good friend Melanie and her nephew, Justin, to join us for cake and ice cream and pudding painting fun... :)
Our little man is SO much fun! He loves his daddy!
Melanie and Justin brought Brian a bunch of random gifts-super fun! Here he is with his package of lime jello! Yay!
Our amazing pudding art...
The birthday boy in all his glory! We love you Brian!
